Long ago the performers used a disguise to fool clergy and gentry as the dancers collected monies from the public in times of need.
The painted faces, rag jackets and rough sticks are peculiar to the Border Morris tradition. We practice Wednesday evenings and new members are always welcome.

Folk of Gwent is the literal translation of the name of our club.
Formed in 1976 by 8 people interested in reviving the tradition of Welsh folk dancing, our costumes are made from traditional Welsh flannel in a variety of colours and patterns.

Formed in 1976, the Isca Morrismen are traditional Morris Dancers from South Wales.
Our dancing season usually begins on 1 May through to approximately mid September and we welcome local dancers and musicians.
